What is ROOT?

(සිංහලෙන් කියවන්න මෙතැනින්.)

(This post includes a brief description about Android rooting and advantages and downsides about it.)

What is ROOT?

As an example, you know you can use your computer as a guest user and as an administrator. Also on android, which is a Linux based operating system, you can use it as a Guest and an administrator. When you buy your Android, you can use it only as a guest. Because you can't edit/delete system files. But it's very important for your Android's safety.
Simply you get administrator privileges if you root your device. After rooting, you can edit/delete system files.

How to root?

Android devices can be rooted with or without PC. There are many ways to root. You can search and find the way to root your device. You can root your device with a Rooting tool/App or with a terminal emulator/Superuser.
One rooting method is not suitable for all Android devices.

Advantages and downwards of root.

Advantages of rooting.

With a rooted device you can,
Install and use apps which requires root permissions.
• Delete unwanted Pre-installed apps.
• Change/remove system files.
• Hack android games. (Get free coins/gold)
• Install xposed modules to customize the device.
• Install Custom ROMs. (CyanogenMod/AOKP/MIUI/Slim ICS/LSRs...)
  * In some models you have to unlock your bootloader to install Custom ROMs.

Disadvantages of rooting.

• Rooting will void your warranty.
• If you accidently deleted system files, phone may stop booting.
*If this happens, also resetting the device to it's factory state will not be a solution. You have to flash the Stock ROM again or install a custom ROM.

*****Important*****
•Rooting will not speed up your phone. But you can stop/prevent apps from auto starting and free up the RAM. It will help the device to stop lagging.
•  To increase the RAM, use "RAM Expander" app or similar one.
